Why choose a campsite committed to sustainable development?

Opting for a campsite committed to sustainable development is much more than a choice of destination: it's a gesture for the planet.
A gesture for the planet

Staying at an eco-responsible campsite means taking an active part in a project to preserve the environment. By choosing a campsite like Vaubarlet, you are directly supporting practices that respect local biodiversity and minimise your ecological footprint. The impact of your stay goes far beyond your holiday: it's part of a global approach to protecting our natural resources for future generations.
An enriching experience

Over and above the environmental benefits, a stay at a committed campsite allows you to discover a more respectful way of life. It's an opportunity to immerse yourself in ecological practices such as recycling, the use of renewable energy and sustainable water management. This type of holiday is more than just a relaxing break, it's a real opportunity to raise awareness of ecological issues.

Ecological commitments From the Vaubarlet campsite

Waste reduction and the circular economy

At our pet-friendly campsite, waste reduction and the circular economy are at the heart of our concerns. We have put in place practical measures to limit our environmental impact.

First of all, waste is rigorously sorted in all areas of the campsite, particularly in the bar and kitchen. We also favour bulk purchases to reduce packaging and avoid plastic waste.

Composting also plays a key role in our campsite's commitment to sustainable development. In partnership with the local community, we have installed compost bins to recycle food and green waste. The latter is reused to mulch green areas and maintain hedges. In this way, all green waste is recycled. Our chickens complete the system by eating the food scraps.

At our 4-star campsite, we support the circular economy by buying and donating second-hand items through partnerships such as Emmaüs. We also make our own furniture from pallets and reuse wood from old terraces to build huts and planters.

Finally, we train our teams in best practice to maximise energy savings and waste sorting, thereby contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

Concrete action for biodiversity

At the heart of our campsite in the Haute-Loire with swimming pool, we are determined to preserve the local biodiversity. Our actions aim to protect flora and fauna while respecting the natural balance.

One of our commitments is to prune trees and shrubs carefully and gently to encourage their development while preserving local ecosystems. Every year, a local farmer mows the meadow in spring, recovering the hay for sustainable management of the area.

We have also chosen to maintain natural areas in order to protect local flora and fauna, creating habitats conducive to biodiversity. In addition, we have chosen not to use plant protection products, which helps to preserve soil and water quality and limits our environmental impact.

Finally, as a campsite committed to sustainable development, we regularly plant trees to enrich our environment and provide ever more pleasant green spaces.

Sound energy management

At our eco-responsible campsite, we adopt rational energy management to reduce our ecological footprint and promote more responsible use of resources.

We encourage soft mobility for our staff by using bicycles, scooters, golf carts and even hand carts to transport entertainment equipment. This limits the use of polluting vehicles and reduces energy consumption.

To encourage energy saving, we have installed awareness-raising signs within the grounds of our 4-star campsite, reminding people of the importance of controlling water and electricity consumption. We have also opted for LED bulbs and neon lights, which are more energy-efficient and long-lasting.

Finally, our mobile homes in the Haute-Loire are 4-season models, designed to provide better insulation in both summer and winter.

Ecological cleaning and short supply chains

As part of our commitment to sustainable development, we favour an ecological approach to cleaning and purchasing, in order to reduce our environmental impact and support the local economy.

For example, we use high-performance H2O microfibres for cleaning, which limits the use of chemical products. In addition, we have chosen natural household products, such as clay stone, white vinegar and black soap, to clean effectively while respecting the environment.

What's more, we make it a point of honour to favour short circuits by choosing local suppliers for our purchases, whether of food, hygiene products, furniture or even mobile homes. This approach supports the local economy and reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting goods.
